Can I still get out of here without anyone noticing?
Well, technically speaking, area128 was an accident. It was meant to be a play on area 51, with an IT / computer / technology twist added on. Unfortunately, area 64 was taken so I did as I do whenever I have a bad idea, I literally doubled down and went with area128.
According to a quick whois check, I registered the domain back in 2010, and ever since then, this is the second public piece of… anything, really, that has been hosted here. Thanks to the Way Back Machine, I managed to recover the first one too which will again be the first blob post on here.
For my own future reference, I’m typing this in 2026, just in case I need to resurrect this site again one day… So why the resurrection? I don’t know really. I guess I am trying to train myself to not be a perfectionist.
I am a doer, not a publisher, not a documenter. I realised that I have done too many things but I have forgotten far too many of them and hardly ever shared any of them with more than a select few.
So here is a pledge to myself more than anyone else: I’ll try to use this space more like a scratch book where I doodle, rather than a polished portfolio.
Once, I heard someone being described as “He’s forgotten more about this subject than you have ever known.” I would rather not be like that guy, but maybe I already am. I can’t really remember…
